High alumina brick

High alumina brick is a kind of silicon-aluminum refractory product with an aluminum oxide (Al2O3) content higher than 48%. It is made by calcining bauxite or other raw materials with a high content of aluminum oxide. It has high thermal stability and a refractory temperature above 1770°C. It has good slag resistance and can be used as the inner lining for steel-making electric furnaces, glass melting furnaces and cement rotary kilns.

Advantages of aluminum refractory bricks

High refractive index

Aluminum bricks have a higher refractory temperature than clay bricks and semi-silica bricks, reaching 1750~1790°C, and are classified as high-grade refractory materials.

Load softening temperature

Due to the high content of Al2O3 in high-alumina products and the low content of impurities, the formation of fusible glass is also less. Therefore, the load softening temperature is higher than that of clay bricks.

Outstanding thermal shock resistance

The high-alumina brick has outstanding thermal shock resistance, which enables it to withstand sharp temperature changes without cracking.

Excellent slag resistance

The Al2O3 content in high-alumina bricks is high, approaching that of neutral refractory materials, and it can resist the erosion of both acid slag and alkali slag. Due to the presence of SiO2, its ability to resist alkali slag is weaker than its ability to resist acid slag.

Good mechanical strength

Good mechanical strength helps to resist mechanical stresses such as thermal expansion and contraction.

Low thermal conductivity

Low thermal conductivity means that they have excellent heat insulation properties, which helps to reduce heat loss.

Applications of high-alumina refractory bricks

Steel manufacturing industry: blast furnaces, hot blast stoves, electric furnaces, steel ladles, water tanks, heating furnaces, refining furnaces, heating furnaces, annealing furnaces, blast furnaces;

Non-ferrous metal industry: smelting furnaces, refining furnaces, reflector furnaces, converters;

Building materials industry: cement kilns, glass kilns, ceramic kilns, lime kilns, kiln cars, tunnel kilns;

Energy and incineration: coke ovens, circulating fluidized bed boilers, carbon roasting furnaces, incineration furnaces.
